Fan (2009)
Four teenagers find themselves in a treatment center when their guardians feel they are headed in the wrong direction. Tobey, a wannabe drug dealer, Amanda, a numb to society girl who avoids dealing with her family and peers, Jake, a shy, disillusioned boy who escapes into the old Noir flicks his grandmother watches, and Ava, a sweet young woman suffering from paralyzing social phobias. As they cross paths during their treatments they begin to unintentionally impact one another’s lives, and become reluctantly involved in each other’s troubled situations.
Fan has been nominated for Best Picture, Best Screenplay, and Best Actor at the 2009 Staten Island Film Festival and won for Best Screenplay.
